so sitting at work with the biggest sandwich in the world (not that I'm one for exaggerating - sp?)and the phone rings
"Hi its Pam from STC Supply, are you free to teach this afternoon"
"Awww no I'm already at work...I cant leave"
"Its just that we were supposed to supply a teacher to a school this afternoon and she hasn't turned up"
"I'm so sorry I would love to, let me know if anything else comes up -Bye" (the covo went along those lines)
Then my Boss Arthur pipes up and says that I was stupid to say no - get myself back on the phone and tell them I'm on my way - so I did
Quick, Ram sandwich in mouth whole, grab keys, run to car neee naw neeeeee naw neeenaw SUPPLY TEACHER COMING THROUGH woooowooowoooo (and other siren resembling noises)
Rapid response time - 10 Minutes and I'm in school good to go!
Thrown in class in the middle of a lesson - planning put in hand and we're off....or so I thought! Bunch of year 6 children....very big and scary! one tipped his table over in protest, one snapped a pot full of pencils, one burped in my face and told me to F#*k off, another maked Indian noises, another banged a ruler every time I spoke. A group of boys sang a song about my 'big titties' and one kept shouting that he didn't like me. So I gave them what for!!!! Angry me does not come out of the box very often and there is a good reason for that! Lets just say I made myself perfectly clear, we got started and it wasn't the worst afternoon ever, though I was ready to sleep on the spot when I'd finished.
I got a call the next day asking me to go back to that class next week. Apparently they were pleased with what I did considering the class and said that they can be much worse than that...I hadn't even seen half of what theyre capable of - Can't bear to think about it!
And now (on a completely different subject)Kevin and I have a new addition to our family. She is adopted from Moos. Her name is Lil (as in Lil Kitten...you see? see how that works?)
and she is the tiniest, cutest ball of fluff in the world (this time, not even exaggerating). She came to live with us last night and we LOVE HER!!! she is sooooo good and so well behaved. She has worked out where the litter tray is and hasn't had any accidents, she knows where her bed is, she ate her food and had lots and lots of cuddles and has made friends with most of her toys. She has the softest little soul and just stares at you wide eyed and purrrrrrrrrrs. We let her sleep in our room last night, but she slept on her bed without us telling her to. She did seem think that 5am was a good time to play and crawled up to smack me in the face, just to let me know. So I got up threw a ball a bit and then put her back to bed till it was time for breakfast. Then we played some more! She is one gorgeous lil lady!
I was very naughty and bought new shoes today...(2 pairs *grimaces at pain inflicted on bank account*. oooooh but one pair is soooooo sparkly - literally covered in sequins and the other have a flower on - very pretty mmmmmmm I LOVE SHOES
Today the world is full of kittens, chocolate muffins, shoes and all things nice. Hows your wold today?
