Went in to hospital to see Auntie Nora last night. She has been in over 2 weeks now and hates it. However, because she has eaten properly and had a drip when she hasn't she has made progress. She even stood up the other day and with help can use her zimmerframe (sp?) to walk short distances. My mam called on Monday night and said that she was the best they had seen her for a long time, that she knew where she was, why she was there, who everybody was and that it would be nice for me to see her like that...so off I went to hospital yesterday.
She was the worst I've seen her. She was flat out in bed, shaking and clutching at her chest then grabbing at it as if trying to pull something off. She was in a very bad mood and was shouting at me because I wouldn't take off her night dress. I tried to explain that she had to keep it on but she just got mad at me. She said she didn't feel well so I told the nurses who just said that she had been like that all day...they didn't really seem to care. It made me sad. There was nothing I could do. I held her hand and told her that I love her and that I need her to get better and to come home..if she would just keep trying. She replied ,"No, No thank you pet, I just want to go to sleep now, I've had enough." I don't know whether she actually meant sleep or something more. Auntie Nora gets in funny moods where you're not too sure how to take what she says. I just had to promise that I would be back in to see her soon and leave her...I felt useless. After everything Auntie Nora has done for me...when she needs me there is NOTHING I can do. Its sooooooooo frustrating. I just want to take her home where I know she will be much happier.
