even cars need shoes
My car needs new shoes.
I drove over a couple of nails a few weeks ago and they burst my tire. Not wanting to spend precious earned pennies on a bit of rubber I ignored this and carried on driving when... BOOM...and that was the end of it. Kevin had to get out and put on my spare tire which he was not too pleased about.
After being lectured on facing responsibility for having these kind of things fixed, I explained that I DO NOT like buying expensive bits of rubber. Kevin knowing this and knowing just how to hit me right where it hurts, suggested that I think of it as my car needing new shoes...and there it was...that heart-breaking moment where I felt like the worst person in the world for letting my car go about with tatty old shoes. This weekend it's off to the car shops to buy the best shoes I can afford and make my little car happy again.
