where there is pleasure in the world, someone not so far away is paying for it
I know that I prayed for more work and I was whining at the fact that I didn't want to go to other schools, I just wanted to work at Swalwell and couldn't wait til after easter when the contract starts. At 7.30am today I got a phonecall from the head saying could I work all week and possibly all of next and that they were also going to try and pay me to do a few days preparing resources in school. How Cool...for me that is.
What I have realised when looking back over the times I have been needed at the school, lifes good old pleaseure/pain balance is always maintained. The pleasure of me getting the work and the pennies in my pocket in a school that I love is ALWAYS counteracted by the pain of someone else.
First major cover: Y4 Teacher had flu
Second: Y6 teachers wife had her appendix removed, got an infection and he had to take leave to look after her.
Third: Y4 teacher had a throat infection.
Fourth: Y5 teacher had a throat infection.
Now: Y2 teacher fell down stairs and has torn all of the ligaments in his right arm, shoulder and leg and can't move.
Can I please just ask God no to spare the lives of any other teachers at the school.
So the thing to really think about is - If I quite fancy your job for myself, watch out because this could be you...
On the pleasure side, it means I get to start now with the class I will have after Easter so I can get to know them and really make a good start..and I get paid.
So, instead of writing here. What I should be doing is making a start on the huge tower of paper work that I need to get through...maybe after a coffee and a little sit down I think.
